THE Myanmar U-22 men's national football team will play against the Indonesian U-22 men's team in the crucial semifinal of the men's football competition at the 30th South East Asian Games today at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines.
A pre-press conference for the match was held yesterday at the media room of the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The head coaches of both teams attended the press meet. Myanmar head coach Velizar Popov said that while host Philippines and Malaysia were popular contenders, it was Cambodia that made it to the semifinal of the tourney.
Popov pointed out that team Myanmar is aiming to reach the final and hoping to give the best performance and get a good result.
The Myanmar head coach said that Indonesia is a strong team and uses good tactics.
“The Indonesian team has very fast players and team Myanmar will need to think about how to approach them. We are prepared for a difficult match with Indonesia. The better team will advance to the final. We will do our best,” said Popov. The semifinal match between Myanmar and Indonesia will start at 2:30 pm (Myanmar Standard Time) today. The match will be broadcast live on MRTV and MRTV Sports Channel and also aired live on Myanma Radio starting from 2 pm.
